Riva di Tures
A high Alpine village with a mountain view.
Already a long time ago in the past, Riva di Tures (1,600 m a.s.l.) used to be a very popular destination for people from all over the world, thanks to its impressive location at the foot of the 3,436 m high Collalto. Riva, part of the municipality of Campo Tures, is located in a side valley of the Valle di Tures and is one of the highest located villages throughout South Tyrol. The name of the village derives from the Latin term „rius“, „rivus“, which means little river.
The municipal area includes 32 of the 84 mountains of more than three-thousand metres high, rising in the Valle di Tures and Aurina. On top of that, there is also the highest-located Swiss pine forest of the Eastern Alps. To sum up, one holiday only will not be enough to experience this fabulous area...
